History of the department
The Department of Biological Chemistry and Pharmacology was founded on July 14, 1993. From 1993 till 1995.Vadim V. Davydov, Professor, Doctor of medical sciences, was the head of the department. From 1995 till 2011 the department was headed by Igor Y. Vysotskyi, Professor, Doctor of medical sciences.
2011 the department was reorganized and renamed, since the subject of scientific researches in nanomedicine was extended. The department was headed by Leonid F. Sukhodub, Professor, Doctor of physical and mathematical sciences, corresponding member of NAS of Ukraine.
L. Grebenik, L. Primova, N. Inshyna and I. Chorna are lecturers of the Department of Biological Chemistry and Clinical-Laboratory Diagnostics. Previously biological chemistry was lectured by: V.V. Davydov, B.O.Garbarets, and B.T. Krutko.
The lectures of pharmacology and clinical pharmacology at the Department are delivered by: I.Yu. Vysotskyi, R. A. Hramova, V. L. Vizhunov, A.A.Kаchаnоvа. Lyudmila D. Lebedeva, assistant professor, worked and taught pharmacology for more than 10 years.
In 2021-2022, Sukhvinder S. Sandhu (Ph.D. Rutgers University, New Brunswick, NJ, USA) joined the teaching of biological chemistry at the department.
