EUGreeCon

On March 1, 2022, the SumDU started implementing the international educational grant project Jean Monnet Actions under ERASMUS+ Programme ERASMUS-JMO-2021-HEI-TCH-RSCH EUGreeCon – 101047527 of «EU consumer policy in conditions of the green and digital transition» (2022-2025). The project is interdisciplinary and will be implemented by teachers of two structural units of SumDU – the Faculty of Technical Systems and Energy Efficient Technologies (Prof. Dyadyura K.O. – project manager) and the Medical Institute (Ass. Prof. Hrebenyk L.I., graduate student Smorodska O.M.).

This educational project is aimed at teaching and research in the field of development, implementation, and prospects of consumer policy in the European Union in the context of strategic directions of the EU in conditions of green and digital transformation. The project’s main objectives are related to medical, environmental, and social security issues.

Research under the project will create standards for consumer protection, particularly in health care, which can be the basis for improving Ukrainian legislation and regulatory policy in Europe as a whole. EU research upholds core European values by reinforcing the European Union’s modern consumer policy ideas for all relevant pages in Ukraine.

The project will organize the teaching for students of Sumy State University a new interdisciplinary elective course, “EU Consumer Policy in Green and Digital Transition”.

The practical orientation of the new discipline provides students with the necessary knowledge to exercise their rights and support European democratic principles in Ukraine. The project will also organize other educational institutions for students of other higher education institutions, the population of the Sumy region, and the regions of the north-eastern part of Ukraine, which include public authorities and representatives of business, NGOs, and consumers.
