Epple from  Duisburg-Essen University (Germany): &#8220;Biomaterials: from centimeter to  nanometer dimensions.&#8221;<\/span><span> After exchange of information on research areas in general  and the activities in the field of new biomaterials for medicine, prof.<\/span> <span> Epple proposed the idea of \u200b\u200bthe next German-Ukrainian Symposium on  Nanotechnology, which will be in Ilmenau (Germany) this year in collaboration with  SSU and Kharkov University.<\/span> <span> Returning to the presentation that has caused great interest we <\/span><span>should note the following.<\/span> <span> Creating new biomaterials to restore lost functions of the human body is one of the main themes of modern science.<\/span> <span> Artificial leather, artificial blood vessels, bone tissue and cardiac stimulants &#8211; it&#8217;s some examples of existing biomaterials.<\/span> <span>Materials based on calcium orthophosphates are very important,  because of their content correspond to the mineral part of bones and  teeth<\/span><span>.<\/span> <span> Further research in this area will be conducted to form more complex and  therefore more close to natural structures so-called composite  biomaterials based on apatite-biopolymer complexes that can participate  in the process of regeneration of bone tissue in situ,&nbsp; a bone  tissue engineering.<\/span> <span> It was agreed that such studies will be carried out in cooperation between the two universities.<\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>In March 2012 at SSU a lecture was given by Prof. M.
